The E-Mort School Complex was officially established in September 2018, following its registration in 2017. The school’s primary objective is to deliver high-quality education to students worldwide, aligning with Ghana’s pursuit of Sustainable Development Goal 4 – ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education, as well as promoting lifelong learning opportunities for all. The institution’s inception began with a modest beginning of four pupils: two boys and two girls. The initial team comprised an administrator named Vida Akakpo and a teacher named Charity Awuah.
As time progressed, Martha and Miriam joined the school, contributing their expertise as a teacher and a cook, respectively.
The dedication of the staff was truly commendable, as they actively promoted the school through door-to-door referrals during breaks. Additionally, a personal connection with a local bread seller proved beneficial, as she assisted in marketing the school by distributing its brochures to her customers during business hours.
The inaugural group of pupils encompassed a diverse mix, including one of the founder’s nephews, two children of a tenant residing in the founder’s mother’s house, and a child from a neighbouring family, Mr. Frank, who eagerly approached the founder and expressed his desire for his son, Kweku, to be among the pioneers of this remarkable institution. We remember Mr. Frank’s soul with respect and honor.
The inception story of the school is intriguing. The concept of establishing the school arose during a conversation between the founder and his late mother, Madam Elizabeth Mortey. During this conversation, she encouraged the founder, saying, “Alex, you have a passion for education; consider creating your own school.”
